Who is Spookyboogy?
An eclectic mix of half-learnt skills and experiences, who has only just about managed to escape the academia doomspiral. I've been in Edinburgh for around 9 years, and active on the scene since the beginning of 2023. In that time, I slowly began to use my academic and professional backgrounds - mechanical engineering - for evil, in the form of adapting and creating designs to 3D print for my friends. That has slowly morphed into Jupiter Prints, opening up those designs to a wider audience for commission, but I still love tinkering with my own projects and creations for my close partners!

In truth, this whole endeavour is a bit of a helter-skelter tumble down the rabbit hole of so-called "small business ownership," but so far I've been having a great time, so we'll see how it goes! If you're interested in checking out some of the things I've done, check out the portfolio on this site, or feel free to have a wander through my Fetlife profile.

My Printer
Having started my 3D printing "career" with a Creality Ender 3 - a well-proven, if somewhat fiddly and temperamental, workhorse - I upgraded to a Bambu Labs P1S in late 2023, and I never looked back. It has been able to handle just about anything I've thrown at it, and the ability to print multiple colours in the same print has been a game changer for the designs I'm able to create. With the capacity to print a huge range of materials, and an integrated ecosystem with the manufacturer's extensive filament range, I suspect I won't need to upgrade for quite some time!
